Last week was very good for investors. The WIG20 index gained 3.61 percent and reached 2,460.96 points. Even bad news which still came from Hungary (where the government could not make a public debt agreement with the IMF) did not stop the strong appreciation of the Polish capital market

International Week In Brief - 10.07.2010
Investors have left the Warsaw Stock Exchange and gone on holiday. The sizzling heat in Poland has discouraged more active trading on the financial markets. Even the outcome of the presidential elections, uncertain till the last moment, did not spark the sentiment.

International Week In Brief - 3.07.2010
Stocks continued to fall last week. The WIG20 index lost 1.60 percent to 2,300.67 points. The oldest index of the Warsaw Stock Exchange WIG lost 1.42 percent during the week and closed at 39,805.41 points. The mWIG40 index performed modestly better and lost 1.25 percent during the week.

International Week In Brief - 26.06.2010
The market sentiment deteriorated last week. The large-cap index WIG20 fell 0.98 percent to 2,337.98 points. Poland’s oldest index WIG lost almost the same, falling 0.94 percent last week. The technical analysis of WIG20 indicates clearly that the market is growing weaker.

International Week In Brief - 19.06.2010
The third week of June brought a continuation of the consolidation on the Warsaw Stock Exchange initiated in mid-May 2010. The index WIG20 lost 0.7 percent and closed at 2,361.16 points last week. The broad-market index WIG gained 0.3 percent to 40,761.71 points. mWIG40 gained slightly more, 0.4 percent, rising to 2,430.77 points. The small-cap index sWIG80 lost 0.3 percent and fell to 11,426.91 points.

International Week In Brief - 12.06.2010
Last week did not stir any emotions, nor caused major changes on the Warsaw Stock Exchange (WSE).The stock exchange indices ranged a small deal, going in the direction set by major global markets. At the background of major global bourses, the WSE has recently been characterized by low volatility, and in relation to just started World Cup and forthcoming vacation period, stagnation may grow further.

Last week was one trading day shorter than most weeks (Thursday being a bank holiday) and it brought some falls. The main indices of the Warsaw Stock Exchange, WIG and WIG20, lost 2.31 percent and 2.98 percent respectively.

International Week In Brief - 29.05.2010
In the fourth week of May, after more than a month of falls, the Warsaw Stock Exchange rose again. All indices gained value. The large-cap index WIG20 performed the best: it rose by 5.1 percent and closed the week at 2,427.11 points. WIG gained 4.6 percent to 41,409.17 points; mWIG40 gained 4 percent to 2,462.50 points; and sWIG80 gained 3.2 percent to 11,693.92 points.
